London Erratics Cricket Club

Founded 1974 for recreation and refreshment

Pearson TV

Location
The old Thames TV Sports Ground, Chessington.
First match
31 August 1997.
We used to have occasional fixtures against the rather disorganised Financial Times side. In 1996 we were supposed to play them at the Thames TV ground (all part of the Pearson group); but they couldn’t raise a team, so we ended up playing the Shambling Derelicts at this Chessington venue. Through the groundsman, we established contact with the Pearson TV team which also used the ground.
In 2002, had the fixture gone ahead, our opponents would have sported the new corporate name of Fremantle Media. Thereafter, this shambolic team collapsed; the fixture evolved into one against a new team, FC London, only vaguely connected with the Pearson past.
