Horningsham
(Wiltshire)

Location
Horningsham, Wiltshire.
DIRECTIONS TO HORNINGSHAM: The direct route from London is via M3 and A303. Note that the A303 can get very busy where it goes down to single-lane traffic past Stonehenge, so allow time (or, if you're feeling brave and have a good road atlas, you can try a rather cross-country detour round the worst bit - as detailed below). From A303 onto A36. As you approach Warminster, you will start to pick up signs for Longleat; these will lead you through a series of roundabouts around Warminster, at one of which you turn left onto the A362 signed Corsely Heath, Frome, Longleat. After half a mile, turn left at the roundabout by a big entrance to Longleat, following signs to Center Parcs and Horningsham. Follow that road for a mile or more through the woods, until you arrive in Horningsham, and turn right at a T junction into the village. If you stay on this road for the best part of a mile you will come to the village hall on the left (a large white building with a red tiled roof): the ground is behind the hall. If you get as far as the Bath Arms, then you have gone about 100 yards too far.
[The detour to avoid the tail back at Stonehenge: Come off the A303 to Bulford (take slip road left off the dual-carriageway, which doubles back over A303). Follow small roads to Larkhill, and to Shrewton. At Shrewton pick up the B390 across Salisbury Plain (passing through Chitterne). Turn right onto the A36 - and pick up the travel instructions above.]
