NOTES
1. A full team of Erratics (substantially bolstered by players from the Withered Lilies and Oxford College of Further Education teams) lined up against a Chesterton team of 10. One of the Chesterton players batted twice.
2. On a drying pitch, the Erratics bowlers proved unplayable. Chesterton did not help themselves with two avoidable run outs.
3. The main match was followed by a 14-overs beer match between 7 Erratics and 8 Chesterton players. The Erratics scored 101 for 2 (Dunabin 33, Rivington 24*). Chesterton proved they could bat after all, reaching 102 for 3 in the last over, with a fine 64* from their young left-hander (Heller 1-17). [Individual scores in the beer match do not qualify, alas, for inclusion in the season’s averages.]
