NARRATIVE
A mature Erratics XI (only Nasir Khawaja under 40) took the field on a sunny day.
Shalbourne started their innings strongly, thanks to some hard hitting from their No. 1. John Truscott and James Rivington eventually applied the brakes, picking up five wickets in the process. However, a frustrating ninth-wicket partnership of 45, aided by some frail fielding by the ageing Erratics, allowed Shalbourne to post a tough target.
Rivington and Chris Dunabin put on 53 for the first wicket, but had fallen behind the asking rate. Nasir Khawaja and Brian Berrigan chased superbly, their partnership of 91 finally broken with the score on 174. Michael Evans was bowled heroically trying to hit 7 off the last ball of the match.
